Legal
This policy explains what Telemegle collects, why, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We’ve tried to write it plainly rather than defensively.
The short version. We never ask for your email, phone number or real name. Your chats are deleted shortly after they end — unless someone reports the conversation. The person you talk to only ever sees your nickname.
When you open Telemegle, Telegram passes us a small amount of account information: your Telegram user ID, first name, username (if you have one and it is visible), language, and whether you have Telegram Premium. We do not receive your phone number, your contacts, or your Telegram chats.
Your confirmation that you are 18 or over, the gender you select (or “rather not say”), the interests you choose, your nickname, and your sound and vibration preferences.
A random nickname and colour; records of your chat sessions (when they started and ended, how long they lasted, how many messages were exchanged, how long you waited to be matched, the language and shared interests); a record of each time you open the app; reports you file or that are filed about you; and any restrictions applied to your access.
If you arrived through one of our ads, the link carries a campaign code. We store that code so we can tell which advert brought which visits and sign-ups. It does not identify you to the advertiser and we do not share it with them.
Our servers process IP addresses transiently to rate-limit abuse and in ordinary server logs. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers on this website.
While a conversation is live, messages pass through our server so we can deliver them. They are held briefly so that a chat survives a dropped connection, and are then deleted shortly after the conversation ends.
There are two exceptions:
Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of a contract with you (running the service), our legitimate interests (safety, abuse prevention, service improvement, and limited direct messaging about our own service), your consent (for optional details such as gender), and legal obligation (where we must respond to unlawful content).
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
We use a small number of providers who process data strictly on our behalf: our hosting provider (servers in Europe), our website host, and our AI provider for the automated conversational features described above. We also share information with the authorities where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to address a serious risk of harm — in particular anything involving a minor.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these, message @Telemegle_bot or email Message the bot. We will verify the request comes from your Telegram account before acting on it.
You can stop our messages at any time using the mute button on any message we send, or by blocking the bot.
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Access to our systems is restricted and protected by an out-of-band login. No service can promise perfect security, so please don’t share anything in a chat that would harm you if it were seen by someone else — including your real name, address, workplace or financial details.
Telemegle is for adults only and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we remove it and delete the associated data. If you believe a child is using Telemegle, please report the chat or contact us.
We may update this policy. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be signalled in the app or through the bot.
Message @Telemegle_bot or email Message the bot.
